Hyper - Will this grate mod still eliminate the cob tips from wedging in the grateIJ That was the main reason we removed every other rod (Old style concave_grate) We always were plugging the concave and sep. grate with soft cob tips = higher than acceptable rotor loss. After removing rods, rotor loss in corn, mainly high moisture corn, was reduced considerably but we do experience increased shoe load from cob bits in some varieties of corn. We have found that corn moisture has less to do with cob breakup than corn variety_hybrid. If your mod will keep cob tips from plugging the grate, we will do it. What has been your experience hereIJ Maybe we would be better off leaving grate the way it is and installing low bars and helical over feeder corner to try to reduce cob breakupIJ Thanks, Oh Great One!
