Combines hyperized

Dear Redbutt: Congratulations. As I travel to shows and fairs and read the rags I see millions of $ of options to increase the performance of red'uns, green'uns, yellow 'uns and silver 'uns. Glad you don't need them. All combines work pretty well right off the assy. line. They are built for Joe Average in mid state USA. There are those out there who don't settle for average. Thus hyper- harvesting natually followed. The same thing in tractors - thus tractor pulls developed. Race cars the same. All these fellows have pushed the envelope of performance and challenged engineers to go a cut above the competition. One of the worlds greatest 'field loss i fers' once said " let those who have no visions of what might be - have fond memories of mediocre success"

I really don't think anyone here cares anything about your red combine. This site is for gleaners so why don't you go get some yellow paint and paint that 1660 so it will match the new case_nh combines when they come out

Mo farm, I figured there new combine would be orange, that is what red and yellow make then they would be back to there old company of CASE color of combines. They can say what they want about buyouts and mergers but our combines have always been gray and say GlEANER on the side. Illinois Gleaner

Are you the same guy whose combine has been in the shop and you have nothing else to doIJ It is too bad your rig is so complicated you can't fix it yourself. Tom in MN

Redbut, In our area, Red machines have to have a pickup load of parts to go from one crop to the other whereas Gleaners require about 5 minutes of adjustments. Red owners are always asking how you change the concaves in Gleaners to go to different crops because they don't know any different. There have been people rent a Red one to run with their Gleaner because it was dirt cheap rent but ended up costing big money because of excessive grain losses. They ended up buying a second Gleaner instead of a pathetic red machine. The Hyper mods don't cost much, don't take very long to do and are aimed at tweaking machine capacity beyond factory setups. You can keep dreaming about your capacity but you might find more sympathetic and gullible people over on the red site. Kelly

There is no way that the little 1660 could do 5.5 in 50 bu beans
