before we added things like extended bars, helicals, wide spaced bars we fought HP issues all the time. Afterwards, almost nil complaints, exception was the first electronic gov units that were reprogramed, and some inline Bosch pumps that we sent to KC Diesel for gov drop resetting to give the peppy feel we get off on.

Hmm yes and no!! After you hyperize your machine and you are running 50% faster than before when in the same conditions as you have been now, you might find it be nice to have more GRUNT! Its been so long since we had a stock machine, that I'm not sure how much better we are now that were hyperizedIJ I do know that when we brought our 94 R62 and used it the first year, I thought we had really stuffed up! I would be lucky I think to be running 5 to 6 kms_hr in our current crop that were harvesting now, (2 ton_hectare wheat) were currently doing 11.1 ks_hr with the same machine at 260 rated HP,9.1 meter flex 500 front and approximately a tad over 5 ltr fuel_hectare, neighbor's up the road have same mode R 62 header but with 9.1 meter draper front and is running about the same speed with almost stock setup! so a draper must add about the same % as hyping your machineIJIJ Tbran, Dan how much does a draper add to performanceIJ could do with a 15 meter draper in the wheat about now! and slow down some Rolf

Couple things about draper. Generally feeder will be carried higher to cut at same height as auger head. This allows more favorable angle between front and rear feed. The better the angle between chains (especially with out tilted floor) the less likely material gets fowled up a bit between chains. As you know the better you feed a rotary the better they go. Other thing is the draper will normally gather crop very well to point of entering feeder. Most of the time the draper manufacture will have nice transition to feeder but if they don't you may need posi-feed tention drum or equivalant. I've heard of this making a MPH difference in itself. I'm all for the Gleaner auger head especially with the 7" flighting for it's simplicity but you can only go to 35'. Also if you have to add air reel or special drive beyond the orbit drive for your auger head and crops the draper may look better. We had to remove full fingers and install extra channel iron under auger to hold all the wheat straw under auger of our 35' 8200 with Crary air reel (with air disconnected) but this worked very well. Anyway the long and short of it is I think you would need to have your neighbor in your field. There are so many variables just in the variety of wheat let alone other things. Side by side measurement of fuel use, crop loss with spreader dropped, dockage at elevator, and acres per hour will tell the story. You might see little difference from stock machine to hypered when hot and dry unless you are looking for straw quality. It's when it damp early or late in the day or when the straw is green or when crop is resistant to slide at RPM you need to run ect. that makes hyperizing realy shine. Take care.
