PETE, a suggestion to help the green stem _ green material rumble problem. The rumble is probably caused by a rolling or balling of green material as it moves through between the thresher bars and the concave and maybe the separator cage as well. In our long past N7 we installed strips of 3 mm [ 1_8" ] flat under the flat helicals. The strips were wide enough so that around a 1_2" of flat extended out from under the helicals on the live side of the helicals. This provided a smooth corner against the live side of the helicals so that material could slide along the helical without getting snagged in the cage holes and stalling which we believed led to balling and rolling of tough material and therefore rumbling. It certainly made a big difference to the operation of the N7 in tough green material which was the achilles heel of our machine and was traumatizing to try and operate due to the banging and crashing when green material went through.

Pete, what do you get for grades from the elevatorIJ Our Hyperized R60 has consistently given No 1 which doesnt pay extra but it does give a cushion when some bad stuff gets into the load.

Tom, Don't know about grades from the elevator but my grades in school were allot of one legged A's, especially my senior year (best four years of my life). I sell directly to ADM and it usually grades No.1. I did have one load this fall grade No.2 because of moisture (19.6) but that was right out of the field. Pete

Pete, It is good to hear you bragging on your old girl.I can't say enough good about my N-5. Hypered it last year and made a few changes this season . I don't know if there is anything more I'd change. We put 530 acres of beans through it and it just smoked right through them. Thanks to the new cage covers we put on. last year when we hypered it we modified an old forward bar to fit in the belly of the separator. The way the ridges all faced ran material out the discharge a little too fast causing way too much rotor loss. This fall I took one of the old reverse bars and modified it to fit in the belly with all ridges facing back toward the threshing end.This setup worked perfect. We push a 20' bean head and could run between 3.5-4.5mph depending on conditions.We went through our corn in no time.The sample in the grain tank was spotless. For a small time operation this machine makes you feel like one of the big boys. I have as much $$$ into it as "the big boys" have into thier header trailers. One thing I will add. When we redid the rotor and put P3 stars on the sep. side I did not cut 1_2" strap steel for spacers and worry about getting the holes perfectly lined up. I bought grade 8 bolts and used grade 8 flat washers as spacers in between the star and cyl. bar.This was extremely easy and cheap. I used nylon insert lock nuts on these bolts also. This fall we did the 1 1_4 black pipe coupler mod to the unloading auger too. I love this machine. Sorry this is so long, I get to talking about this and get carried away.

Tom, I think it was NDDan or Tbran or Hyper harvestII that told of it on here. The hardest part of this mod is locating a 1 1_4 BlACK PIPE coupler. Get a 1 1_4 black pipe coupler(not galvenized). Go inside grain tank on combine.Remove the lid from the unloading auger cylinder housing. Take the hydraulic line off the end of the cylinder and wire it up so it does't fall down the housing.Take a ballpeen hammer and tap down on the endcap of the cylinder. Tap it down about 1_2 inch.I then took compressed air and blew this area spotless. Take 2 sharp screwdrivers and remove the internal style snap ring from the groove in the top of the cylinder. Pull the end cap up and off of the cylinder. Drop the 1 1_4 coupler down onto the top of the plunger. Put the cap and snap ring back on. You just added 12" of height to your unloader spout.You may have to adjust the unloader switch so it engages.

latest success story just in from Australia. long time owner of Gleaners and now the Cummins powered R75 has it's floor tilted, helicals tweaked, Bison rotor installed, and few Aussie specialities. Happy as you can imagine running easily along class eight (non AGCO). Sounds like the class 8 is out of power even though it should have a 100 HP edge over the 75. Sounds like the dealer has been called. This has been a common report threwout the summer. Biggest complaint I'm hearing these days is how can I get more capacity out of the clean grain. I tell them to buy the R66-76 or wait for the next big bad boy natural flow to round the corner!!!!

Ho Hum! Dan! I need to change my Repeats elevator over to become the clean grain here! 70-80 kgs a hectare here of lentils! :sad: Tap was turned off on September the 1st here! and we think a frost got us as well! Im still looking forward to next years to give me next doors green_red machines a licking thought! same as aboves Aussies mods but just a 62!
