Combines hyping a r72

You've done enough. We've done all that plus did the hi-lo cylinder bar set-up...ran that way for 2 1_2 seasons. Took out hi-lo's and went back to stock cylinder bar set-up the other day (four reversers). So far we like the stock set-up better.

someone tell about 3_4" hardsurfacedbars VS 1_2" hard surfaced bars with every other groove cut out, which makes them 1". is this too agressive in some cropsIJ

Before fall harvest I installed the steep helicals and a Sunnybroke generation 2 rotor in my 95 R62 with the air diesel. I have not cut any wheat yet with this setup but I am very satisfied with it in green stem beans and milo, don't worry about moving the crop through the cylinder too fast as it does not seem to be a problem. My original cylinder did not have the extended cyl bars and this setup increased the capacity by at least 30% and you really have to try if you want to crack any grain.

Might want to try concave door hump kit, replacing 1st six helicals with 4 steep pitched helicals, feed chain speed up pulley, and on 500 headers 19tooth drive and 70 driven auger sprokets. Started at 12:30 today and cut 63 acres of Tennessee hill ground. Wish I had a 530 instead of 525 only for capacity and speed on a 97 R62. Second gear, hydro wide open, RWA on is more tolerable on the ears since third gear WHINES too much.

Tom, Only thing we didnt like was some rotor loss. With soybeans it was often around 1_3 bpa and in corn it was usually a solid 1_2 bpa sometimes 3_4. Now it is nearly undetectable and have not suffered any consequences like poor grain sample or lack of power. Not sure why but in our crops we just couldnt squeez it all out with the hi-lo set-up. At Farmfest one year I visited with George Kuchar (you know the guy who makes a living Hyperizing JD 9000 Series combines) and asked him what he had to improve a stock Gleaner. He said what he sells to improve Gleaner performance is a set of cylinder bar filler plates to keep material pushed out against cage. Claims you can reduce cylinder speed in crops like soybeans a bunch and still get good separation. I then said oh you mean like SunnybrookIJ. He just mumbled and changed the topic. Anyway, I wonder if that could have been some of the problem with the hi-lo set-up in our crops.

you think your COMBINE whines too much,,, you should hear what I hear! Seriously, folks this is a true Hyped R62 to the max. KBomar has been a real trooper the last few years working with us in getting to where we are in performance. He, like the rest of us, can tell you about umpteen things that WON'T work, but he has stuck with the program and has been successful in achieving the STAR TREK award - To go where man has never gone- in combine performance. A VERY small award goes to his partner_sidekick_andafewothernonprintableadjatives and most of all to the brains_boss of the matter (to him and me) the Mrs., the cute and shinning Shannydale.

Something tells me you likely have got them reverse bars back out of there by now. Have you tried hypers suggestion on seperator grate or is yours adjustableIJ I know just two reverse bars spining in one location will kill machine in tough conditions unless maybe you have 400HP, I don't want others to get confused for I bet your cylinder bars are still extended to discharge, feeder shocks still on, third helical extended over feeder opening if you have normal pitch helical (or else you have rock sump installed or door welded shut). Hyping involve lots of years of machines and vast majority of machines are older than yours and will benifit tremendously. I hope you give us an update on how you are doing with all them reverse bars.
