Hi Pete Im glad you got it going without too much trouble. Of course, I have never done anything as dumb as that. Now whats thisIJ Is my nose suddenly growing longerIJ
NEVER, I repeat never have I pulled into a field with a new R75 complete with 30' head, traveled the 150 feet til the buzzers and beepers and horns went off, taken the palm of my hand and smacked my forehead in punishment,,, no never have I done something so foolish or embarassing...
There are those that have and those that are going to. I belong in both groups, esp when the concave door blows open and I accidently knock cylinder out of gear while closeing back up. Dummy me...........look at cylinder speed indicator at sep startup!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not running for office, so I can be honest and admit to doing that once. Same situation as you - greased the coupler, forgot to reengage gearbox. My dad was running the combine. He started down the field and I was behind him. I then notice there was no trash coming from the discharge. I grabbed the two-way radio right quick and told him to bring the beast to a halt. Got her stopped before any buzzers went off and was easy to get going again. Sh_t happens!! Tom langan
late 1970s. New l2. Used it for 2 seasons, including contract harvesting over rough country, in light crops, at 8-9mph. Servicing it in preparation for the 3rd season. Very puzzled! There did not seem to anything for the latches, holding the header on, to hook onto. Went to our local agent to check. He reached under the counter and put two latch hooks in front of us and said " we have been trying to figure out who these belong to for the last two years"! I used to get all sweaty at thinking of that header coming off. Am told it is not a pretty sight when one falls off and is driven over! Also stopped the clunking and odd bang that we could never find the source of. Never did completely trust that agent again! Cheers.
