The Gleaner rotary will shine in sidehills and grades over the AF, they tend to spill out when tilted too far or on long uphill grades. The wear of the elephant ears is not there in the Gleaner. The 6_7 class Gleaners are clearly set for 12 row operation where only the 8 series AF is. Both are powered well and both do a good to excellent job of cleaning depending on the operator. I run a 6 series Gleaner and my uncle runs an 8 AF, both are nice machines, but even my uncle marvels at the capacity that the Gleaner has with ease. Both machines have aftermarket tweaks to improve performance and capacity. Gleaner has less moving and parts in general to wear over the AF. And for the biggest sales pitch here, the Gleaner Talk Show group is the friendliest and most informative of all the groups here.
