I've run a 220 on a 1440 and now a 1666.It can be done without much trouble. I got a Bish adapter kit that had all the hardware, and rigged up the HHC by myself. Headsight claims to have a kit for the HHC between a JD head, and an IH combine, but it's not shown on their website.Maybe it's new enough to be in their literature, but not on the web.

I just talked someone through on changing heads over to a John Deere Head. I run a 20 ft JD on a 1660, I can send you pictures and send you any info you need to change them over.

Yes please send me your infomation on the change over and any pictures you have. I am particularly interested about how to connect to the side of the header where the clutch is and the hose fittings and also the automatic header sencor hookup. Right now I am going to try and patch up the 1020 to finish out my crop if the rain and backwater ever let up. But this winter I am going to be looking at the auctions for a good 922 for next year. My E-mail address is traperto@yahoo.com thanks

Check with Bish Mfg. They will have the adapter plate and the telescoping PTO shafts. It will come with instructions on how to shorten the stock JD drive shafts to allow room for the tele. ones. The kit comes with the bearing and holder to support the shaft. Not difficult work, but not something most of us could do in 15 min. either. I don't remember exactly what I changed for hyd. hoses and tips, but again,it's not difficult. As far as the HHC,the main thing to remember is that the head[i.e. header control],has to be able to communicate with your model combine. Most people mount the IH pot. on the JD sensing shaft, splice into the wires already on the head, splice the plug from the pot. onto the top end and you're set. When you mount the pot.,allow for plenty of adjustment, because you can't be certain how it will react at first.I installed mine very carefully, but when I tried it,it fell to the ground and layed there. It wasn't getting a raise 'signal',but I didn't know why.In my frustration,I rotated the pot. 180*,and it worked perfectly.I had miscalculated the movement 'range' of the pot. All this being said,Headsight [ph. 574_546_5022]has conversions available, many of which are plug and go.First one mentioned is CIH combines to JD headers[flex or corn].I have no idea how that would work, but it would be interesting to know.Good luck.
