Good choice,I bought my first Deere this year, ran Massey 850 before. I have a 1996 9500 that harvested 2400 acres of flax, canola, durum, barley and peas this year. The combine never had a breakdown during harvest.
You wont be disappointed. I traded am 88 model 7720 for a 97 model 9500 and I have not regretted it at all. I am sure the 9500 will come close to the same capacity you experienced with the 8820. But the creature comforts and service ease are no comparison. You will like the 9500.
You will really enjoy the 9500 over the 8820. In comparison to the 50 and 60 series, I actually preferred the hydro_header height controls on the 00 series. Enjoy!
