I've got three old 50's era combines I wanted to get running again but with spending most our time on keeping the later "antiques" running on the place for harvest, I'll probably not get around to it. I think it would be great if more guys would fix up older combines like they do the tractors, but like Deerbines said there are few that want to fix them up and alot combines go for scrap. Of course parts and transport of old combines for showing can be a real pain, but when a farmer fixed up a large old pull type IH with draper header and ran it one Sunday it was a major show in the area. I wouldn't junk them if you don't need to. Here's a site where maybe you can get some help on price etc. Try this section of Yesterdays Tractors site www.ytmag.com_harvest_wwwboard1.html or the main site www.ytmag.com_index.htm
