Combines IH 1688 settings in soybeans

I hesitate to tell you to change settings when you say things look pretty good, but maybe we could make things look very good by speeding up both the fan and the rotor. I usually run the rotor from 640 to 670 and the air at least 1050 to 1100. It also seems like you are driving very slow for a 1688 with just a 22 ft header unless you are cutting very heavey beans. A 1688 is capapble of jogging in the park but run it only has fast as you are comfortable with it.

I'm with Unit 2. Rev it up all the way around. I run a 30 foot head on my 2188. The slowest I run is about 3.3 mph in really heavy beans. I was running 5.5 mph yesterday in 35 to 40 bushel beans. I run my rotor at 650 and fan at 1100. It will do the best job when you're pushing it to capacity, but not beyond.
