I would go with a 25ft or maybe even a 30ft head on a 2388. We were thinking of putting a 22.5ft on our Case IH 2344 combine. I think that the 8 row is good with the 2388. If your fields are big, then maybe a bigger head would be better.

Hibred, I've been running CIH combines for thirteen years now, formerly Gleaner combines. I currently have two 2003 2388s with the AFX rotor. What I like the most about the CIH combines is their reliability and grain quality.I use them about 99% for custom work and it is a very rare day when a farmer wants me to make an adjustment to do a better job. I also farm just a little and last winter I hauled my soybeans to Cargill and on over 6000 bushels of beans I had all of 3 bushels of dockage, I didn't think that was to bad. I always change all the concaves and grates when I go from wheat to fall crops, corn, beans, milo, but I know guys who run a combination of the concaves and grates and they change nothing and get along fine cutting those same crops. When I go from corn to beans to milo I change nothing but rotor speed and shoe setting. I have the Crary bin extentions and if you fill it up it is about 300 bu. You definatly do not want anything smaller than a 25' flex header and 8 row corn head. I have a 30' riged header and 25' flex header with Crary Air Finger Reel that most of the time I wish was a 30' also. As far as I know the 2388 does not have the single point hydraulic and electric hook up but I don't know why you would need it any way because what they have now is a breeze to hook up. I've included my email so feel free to email me if you have any other questions and good luck with what ever color you decide to go with. K.A.

Chuckm, The AFX rotor in the 2388 makes me wonder whey they make an 8010.

Thank you. You are the first AFX Rotor owner that I heard from directly, everything else was third party. But, all of the comments were something like yours.
