Combines induction cone

The rotor must come out. The cone is smaller at the back and wouldn't come past the elephant ears. Once you get far enough to get the cone out the rotor just slides out. Use a loader to lift the front of the rotor a bit slide it out to where the back rests on the frame. chain the back to the loader and pickit up. Sometimes they slide out quite fast so it is a good idea to park the combine with the backend down a hill so the rotor is closer to level (safer). to put it back in just slide it up the hole, tie a rope to the top of it to lift it into the hub at the top. (remove the inspection cover above the rotor drive to do this). Might be a good idea to change the bushings in the drive hub while it is out. I have never replaced a cone but I hear that they sometimes do not line up that great. When ours wore out I took the rotor out and welded light metal over the holes and went 4 more years till we scrapped the combines. Rod
