Hi there, I recently renewed my ceiling vinyl_foam and just thoroughly removed the old foam. The glue was faster than I was, and some small creases were left, but these disappeared after a month or two. Have fun

You will need to use a solvent to clean the old glue off before spraying the new stuff. This will give you a better bonding surface.
