Been an awful long time since we put a chopper in N6. It was quite a job as I remember. I would try get the whole rear discharge for I think there would be less chance of you haveing trouble making the conversion. A few things to keep in mind: Chopper is driven off of engine PTO pulley so you need the proper size pulley for the rated RPM of your machine. First belt goes to jackshaft and you'll need that. Belt goes from there up to chopper clutch so you want to be sure it is there and in operating condition. Whole casing that houses chopper rotor needs to be switched and could need repair. Chopper rotor itself should be examined blade mounts and knife condition. What I'm tring to get at is you might end up with alot more into this than you want. Chopper drive belts run at very high RPM and pulleys close together so you have to have things lined up well. When things are not right you will have alot of trouble. Don't mean to scare you but these older machines did not have the most refined system for driving the chopper. Hope this helps you make your decision.
