Combines Installing rock door fillerIJ

We close and latch door in normal manner. With it closed and latched we clamp vise grips on support that runs accross the door. The vise grips hang half way off support and prevent side plates from swinging down when bolts are removed. With all bolts removed we carfully set hump onto door. The hump will sit on door without sliding if you have swung concave open. Now we start all the bolts and then take one back out at a time to apply loctite then tighten them all up. We tap all the holes in hump before setting into place. You will only use eight of the holes in the hump. Good luck

also make sure when you tighten the out side two bolts on each side. i usually latch the door and then tap on each one to get the latch as close to the striker plate as poosible this will help keep the door from coming open to easy

Yes and snuging latch a little tighter than factory also. There will allways be a little more pressure on latch for the weight of hump and contact with crop (contact with crop is what helps keep the feeding smooth). Extending the third helical from gearbox over feeder opening will also reduce load on rock door. If you have installed the optional steep pitch helicals and started them right at gearbox wall you would be extending the first helical from gearbox over feeder opening. It would certainly be less important to extend any helical over feeder opening if you have installed the steep pitch kit.
