The big number one problem is that Biodiesel is still more expensive than diesel. Also other problems like problems at low temperatures and filter plugging can also occur at higher levels of biodiesel. There is a ton of info on the web about biodiesel and other bio fuels.

Talk to your fuel supplier. You can only buy it with a blenders license and a fuel tax license. If you use it at the 2% level it replaces an oil based additive and is economically competitive. Right now, with the price of diesel, it's 8_10th of a cent per 1% blend. States seem to have maximums that you can run. Once again, your fuel supplier should know. If they don't call your state Soybean association, and they should know. Chads

I'm in southern middle TN and use 10% blend.Don't see alot of difference but will continue using it.I feel like the payoff will come down the road because it replaces the lubricant that was lost when they started removing sulfer. The slicker the fuel the longer the pump will last and it burns cleaner.Just get several people to go to your fuel supplier and ask for it and if he doesn't want to fool with it just tell him if he wont support the farmers that you will find a supplier that will.My supplier just set a tank on top of the ground and set up a pump so it don't cost much to install. There is no worry about a spill because it is safe for the enviroment.

I've run a 50-50 mix for the last 2 years with zero problems. Combine started right up one morning last Nov. when it was 21 degrees. If your getting a product that plugs filters, you need to find another supplier. Illinois
