Combines Is a Gleaner M a good combine

The M combine is a good machine and will preform very well. What Crops are you planning on using it onIJ What Year is itIJ We use our 76 m which is a corn soybean special to pick corn and cut wheat. it preforms well in wheat with a 22 ft header and a 6 row corn head. They are good machines and I think you will be satisfied with the machine.

Thanks brent_56, I don't know the year, but if i remember right the serial n was a 900 something. Its also a Corn Soybean Special with a 16 ft platform and 438 cron head. JP

The M started with 1001 in 73 and a 9000 serial is a mid 75 model. Owned an M2 and loved it.

Ran an M-2and M-3 for a total of 23 years,good,simple,and reliable.less than 5 HOURS downtime in 23 years. Iwould recomend a long shoe machine though,and that would be all M-3's and later M-2's.

Yeah the last year the M was made was in 1976

I would buy an N6 before I would get an M. We have both and there is no comparison on speed. The N6 seems to be harder on the seed compared to the M but you can do more acres with the N6. I fixed more bearings and rebuilt 3 shafts on the M so I might be still mad at it. I worked on it more than farmed with it. But after last year I have been thinking of selling and buying something else.
