Combines Is John Deere Falling BehindIJ

CAT introduced the lexion 590R at the Farm Progress Show this last week. The thing is HUGE!! It was running with a 16r head in corn, and keeping up. But they weren't doing the best just of cleaning, grinding it going over the back. But nobody was doing a great job of cleaning given it was 30% moisture. The cleaning area is bigger than an 8010, but not much bigger. I won't compare it to the 9860sts, it's not even close. I don't see then need for these huge machines. Just the setup at the Farm Show had to cost almost $500,000. Who can afford thatIJIJ

Ok, I take that back, the CAT isn't even close to the 8010 in cleaning area. I guess the "operator" at the Farm Show thought he'd talk his combine up, even though it wasn't true.

Greenbean, if only you knew where the majority of the parts for green combines came from, you wouldn't think the Cat brand and Germany to be too awful.
