Combines Is Massey backIJ

They have the best combine that they made in a long time now. Now they will have to market them and get more dealers out there. A lot of this combine market is marketing the product. Also Deere has put themselfs at the top here, so everyone will be trying to gain some market share back from them. No one has more to loose than Deere now. IlNH

Good post. Couldn't agree more. Massey, Gleaner, New Holland, all have made tremendous advancements in their machines, making Deere seem a bit dated. The green reign is perhaps coming to a close, as it is time. The others have great products and it is time their success in sales is commensurate with their success in performance.

I agree. I saw the new massey at the farm show and it does look pretty impressive in simplicity, but still not quite to the level overall of Deere and Case.

I don't think Deere is worried about either combine manufacture. DEERE will responed.trust me.I think it might be next year,not sure. I've seen something special latley. I still like the 50 series cab controls and monitors better than the newer designs of the CASE and NEWHOllAND COMBINES. I will tell you this the Bi-Rotor cocept is not dead they are not ready to use it yet. I will tell you this also, I know what a 9750sts will do to a comparable combine if set right,it will destroy it,fact. imagine how the bigger deere will do against the CASE AFX 8010. I want really mention the other combines, there good, but they really need more dealers to be a threat to Deere. I like the 2388 design better, I think that CASEIH should have designed the combine themselves without newholland. The worst thing Case IH did was sell to fiat. I beleive they would hve done better on their on. Case is really the only real threat to Deere, always have been because both make good equiptment and have a lOT OF DEAlERS and SERVICE ClOSE TO HOME!!!!!!!!! thats what counts,period. STSMAN

You've obviously never seen what a lexion will do to an STS, and I mean a class smaller lexion than its competing Deere STS, or even a walker lexion to an STS.

Would differ with you on that remark, after seeing 8780XP run circles around 2388 this summer in Texas wheat run. Averaged 45 bu acre and Case was in the way every round. Massy was running next to straw spreader on a R62 Gleaner. That Gleaner and Massy must have been doin around 6+ mph. One heck of a site.

Here here, no comparison! Have seen 480 at 30% more than an 9750STS in barley, wheat, canola, 460 at 10% more than that same 9750STS in canola, and 470 at least 20% bigger than a 9650STS in all crops all year long. Deere should be scared, as all that market share they bought over the last 4 years is about to be divied out between CIH, NH, CAT, and yes even MF.

Have seen R62 at 33% more than a 480 cat in good sunflowers (not counting all the time the cat sat in the corner of the field).
