Combines Is there a serial n break on problem 8 1 enginesIJ

We have a 9660 STS that the engine went out of. The rumor we heard is that John Deere has figured out which engines are affected and will be changing them in the off season if they don't crater before that. Our combine is a 2004 model and was built in July 2004. If you check the back panel right above the fuel tank filler opening ( or in that area ) there is a date written there in chalk. I am guessing that is the date of manufacture. Ours was July 24, 2004. If you have a 9660 or 9760 and its date is close to July 2004 ( either way ) it is probably affected.

What about 8020 tractorsIJ

I don't know about tractors. So far I've only heaed about sprayers and combines.

They are the same engine, common rail injection with a U2 Denso pump. They have had the same fuel updates too. Im curious about the serial numbers. I have a 8420, and a 9650. Any one have SNs yetIJ
