Combines Italian corn head

I have seen them, although not in operation. looks like a good idea. You will drive a little slower than a regular cornhead especially if you have the stalk chopper attachment. But even without a chopper you still have to drive a slower..I was told by the manufacturer, 5 mph is about top speed. By the way, the price will scare you, or it did me anyway. Several thousand dollars higher than a hugger. Have to save a lot of corn to make up the difference but if they perform the way they say they will it might pay to have one.

Hi, I have an used Olimac (drago) that i bought just one month ago. I'll try it in a few days in corn. I notice the roller runs slower than my previous header but with the kniffe tipe roller i think it will do a decent job. My head have electric adjustement for stripper plates but not chopper. Will post here how it works.

There is a long string discussing the Drago corn hear over on Machinery Talk that should be of interest. Here is a link to it.

I appreciate all the help on info. look forward to posting of how it works for you sebas. I was told it had spring tension not electric for stripper plates. Self adjusting to stalks as they come in. Crops look good here.......not prices!
