Combines J D Grain Head to R42

We have run a 220 flex on our R62 using a Bish adapter. There are 2 choices for adapter plates now. One requires adding some flighting to the header auger to make up for the feeder offset of the Gleaner. The newer adapter centers the feeder opening with the head but by doing that you cannot get the proper wheel spacing to run down the rows in a 30 inch row situation. Probably not a big deal to most people but we also run row crop heads so wheel spacing is a must.

i am interested in putting a jd flex on R50 or r62 so I am wondering how you handle the operation of the flex; electric on gleaner hyd on jd is it a big deal to convert and how well does the jd feed on the gleanerIJ . now that I know someone has done it maybe you can help.

I answered the same questions on newagtalk earlier today if you are the same person who asked about adapting a JD header to Gleaner. On the electrical part the guys at headsight.com could probably answer your questions better than I could. If you have the electrical diagram for the header and the combine you should be able to figure something out. We only had ours wired for one position at a time and had to manually change wires if we wanted to use a different position. Usually the low position was all we used so it was not a big deal. I posted later to see if anyone has mounted the newer hydraflex on a gleaner. Seems like a good concept; hydraflex with full finger auger might be another option to air reel or orbit reel.
