Combines JD 4400 Gas in Indianapolis Indiana

Sounds like another good project. I'm not sure it will fit in the garage beside the Farmall H though. I have also never run one with the gas motor. I would be afraid of available power and fuel usage. Good luck!

Thank you. Nope won't fit in the garage for sure! Besides if Mrs. Red's Jimmmy sat out again I would be a Dead Red. I prefer the gas for an older motor. Old diesel would be fairly expensive to maintain I would think. With only 1,500 hours on it I would hope it is in fairly good shape. I bet it will be a guzzler though. Tach goes to 3,500 and the owner thought it ran at 3,000 open throttle. Don't own it yet BTW.

You're right about it being a gas guzzler. That Chevy 292 cu in will use almost twice the fuel of a JD diesel. It should run 2500 rpms wide open. I've run a gas model before you shouldn't have a lack of power. That combine looks a little rough in your pictures, but then again the paint doesn't make the machine run.

Its rougher than it looks actually. However the tires and belts are in very good condition. Even all the lights are intact! I am definitely taking on a risk if I buy it.

I thank you for the offer. I just bought the 4400 for $600. I don't plan on running but a few acres each fall with it. Just a big ol toy.
