Mike, if it's a flathead, it's an old Hercules. The later model roundback had an HA145, which was the same used in the 1010. It was overhead valve.

My dad had 1 of 2 in the county.It was the first cornhead available,known as n10 model.After the first season ,Deere sent an update kit which included about everything but the tinwork. Dad said it was terrible for wrapping any weeds or grass on rolls _sprockets_shafts.After 2 seasons dad bought a new 210. A big improvement
