Combines JD 55 header

Hi there, what number_model corn head are you attaching to the combineIJ Growing up with that model I can try to help you out. First and foremost you need to lock the float springs to make them inactive, usually its a couple of 1_2 inch bolts and a couple straps that hook it together so it cannot do its thing. I am guessing that then you will need to totally remove the feederhouse from the combine. Remove the header drive(if i remember correct a n60 chain)all thats left is the 2 cylinder pins and the 2 pivots at the top of the feeder house. You will need to make sure everything is blocked up to perfection. Used to work on a 55 and 105cs, what a relief it was when we got the intermediate feeder house that enabled us to use the 40 series corn heads and 200 series flex heads. It ended a lot of messing around and taking up space in the shed with all the heads. Any other questions(if i answered any) let me know. Dave
