Combines JD 653 corn head

Have you looked at the head or were you just told what the number was because a 653 JD Head is actually an all-crop head a 6 row 30" corn head would be a 643 or a really new one would be a 693 I have no idea what a head like that would be worth but just check the number again to make shure it is what you want.

I sure wish someone would show me where John Deere ever stated in any of it's literature that the 53_53A series heads were designated "All Crop" . Mr. lang: row crop heads don't have rolls. They have rotary and stationary knives with gathering belts to pull in the stuff that gets cut. You can run those belts till the cows come home contrary to popular belief although you must take a link or two out when you can't even get them tight with the torsional tighteners. The actual work they do is very minimal as the material they carry doesn't drag. Best way to cut beans ever devised. Good luck.. GS
