Combines JD 925 flex on 860

It sure is possible. For the past couple of years I have used my brother-in laws JD 220 head on my MF860. I have a bish header hanger to attach the head to combine. I had to drill a couple of holes in the big tube (frame) to clamp it to the bish adapter. The header height control probably took more time than any of the rest of hooking it up. I had to get a dial-a-matic switch, knob, and wiring harness. You hook the switch to the header height control box in the cab. You need a jumper wire installed where JD had a feeder house switch installed. It looks like I will need to get a jumper harness to hook from the 200 series harness (combine side) to the 900 series header plug. On the 220 I only needed a 2 foot hose to hook up the reel control. It is going to take a much longer hose for the 925 head. You have to go from the right hand side of combine feeder house to the left hand side of head. I haven't tackled how the reel fore-aft is going to hook up yet. I have an extra spool valve in the main hyd control valve (was for vari-speed on gear drive units)that I plan on using. I will need to get some linkage to operate it. One thing that I am going to do before using the 925 head is, wire the feeder house electric clutch in with the lower stone trap door. This is so that as this head picks up every rock it finds - if the stone door opens, the power to the feeder house clutch goes off and I don't try to power a rock thru this machine again.(very painful to the feederhouse chain!!)

300two860, its good to hear that the 925 will work on the 860. I will have to get the wiring diagrams for the JD dail-a-matic and I should be set. thanks for the info.

put your reel drive motor on the left side of the durn head. No reason why it won't go there..GS
