Farmertony, you might want to consider the new lexion forty foot flex head. I watched it operate on a new 585R at the Ohio Farm Science Review last week and by far and away it did a better job cutting and floating than all others, including the Hydraflex (Deere, lexion, CIH and NH were the only soybean machines running). The NH and CIH (MacDon) "flex-wing" (sounds like a tampon to me) draper heads were the worst, hands down. The lexion head is very simple. two inline drives (similar to the SCH drive system) drive the split knife. It also has a pretty heavy duty split auger and one heck of a reel. it also has a stainless floor and simplest to adjust stripper plates I have ever seen.
