Warning to all combine owners, no one does it but you need to blow out the engine compartment every day. If you don't, it just raises all of our machinery insurance policy premiums!

If you could, find out if it started in the fuel tank compartment, what kind of venturi system (standard or brush type),whether the piece of stainless steel was bolted to the top of the manifold and whether it's a Tier 1 or Tier 2 motor.

Notice to hymark.. the engine compartment is the only thing on mine that stays spotless. The airflow is so strong it polishes the paint off the motor. The driveshaft tunnel through the grain tank is a great place for chaff to build up and catch fire, like just about every pulley on either side. Reverser gearbox may be the worst. I do take a leaf blower to mine every day, as well.
