Combines JD combines blowing up

I heard it is not just newer machines. Even the 9610's can have the same problem. Usually happens within first 750 hours - if it is going to happen. Heard it is something about the material that is used to seat the rings "holders" into the pistons.

What is happening on the 60 series is that the crankshaft dampners were made wrong, causing a vibration to break the crank near the n6 connecting rod. The older combine problems were mostly related to the 9400 model due to the dampner bolt not threading deep enough into the end of the crank, causing the crank to break off flush with the front seal. As of July 31 there has been about 36 8.1 liter engines in the 60 series spontanteously turn themselves into scrap.

Not suprising the quality sucks on the green machines nowadays. Sounds like a RandD problem. Maybe they could get a cat engine to install in there combines and big 4wd tractors . hehehehe

trouble will be the cat use plastic to hold the gudgeon pin in and these full out and the pin hits he bore dam yellow green or red problem for all cheers

Does this mean that JD has sourced different crankshafts for this yearIJ or just the 'crankshaft dampners' were sourced some where else IJ or were they IMPROVEDIJIJIJ

There has been more then that. I talked to the JD harvest support team in our area they already have changed out 42 engines.
