Combines jd220 can t cut close enough

did you get in under the slider pans and clean all the dirt outIJ they get packed in there clear up at the joint where you can't see real well and it may look like they are clean and still be jammed up. That thing has enough adjustment to cut sod. I have mine backed out 3_4 of total throw. GS

We had to put a tip kit from deere on the feeder house to tip the whole platform and then adjust the sicle level. works great. we are done for the season and are going to trade heads. we would be willing to sell it for $100 if you are interested. 217-395-2300

I don't know exactly whats wrong with yours but I do know that if it's anything like the 218 we have you should be able to cut close.Generally we like to cut close enough that you can not tell which direction it had been planted.Make sure as other post said that it is clean under neath,crap can pack in awful hard,make sure header control is not keeping it up,shut off control and cut manually see if it cuts lower when dropped hard on the ground.A few years ago when beans were very short we did all of them with head hard on the ground,used up a set of poly but got all the beans. It is able to cut close,something is keeping it from working.

let as much air out of rear tires as possible. This allows more rotation of feeder house and therefore more forward tip of knife.
