i have many of hours on a 105 and a 95. if you pee next to them they wont run i always caried spar points and condensers and that seames to do the trick. i also had a simular problem that turned out to be electrical and replaced the alternator and it ran fine. if all els fails i carried a 3 foot peise of re rod to beet on the carb and some times that worked.

I've run 55's for it seems forever. If not electrical it could be rust_crud in the gas tank. They're notorious for that. The strainer in the top of the sediment bowl(s) might be dirty. I've never had any trouble with electrics on either my Hercules or JD (217) engines. HTH.
