Combines JD9600 lacks Power Help

I was runnning this fall with two 9600s that experienced a similar problem...If your problems are not air filter or injector pump related, lack of power under load is almost always caused by fuel flow problems. As I understand 9600's ( I run an 8820 T-II ),there is a strainer in the bottom of the tank right in line with the fuel line connection. You may want to check this to ensure it is clean and not restricting fuel flow....( best to do with as near an empty tank as possible ) ... The second place is your fuel filters....How long has it been since you replaced themIJ Elaborating on what you have done to check the fuel flow would help us understand better.

I have been running a 9600 with 15,000 ac. on it. So, I have been through most problems by now. The last suggestion is a very good one I just ran into that one this year after replacing the fuel filters I cleared the fuel line with air. And ran the rest of the season with no problem. The next place to look is with the aluminum pre cooler radiator if you have a crack in it every thing will work fine till you knead the extra power. The leek is hard to find you will have to do a compression test on it. The first time this happened to me I pulled it out to get the crack welded just to have it crack in another spot 2 years later that time I replaced it with a new one and have had now problems since.

Thanks for the input. I have a 1989 9600 also which will run circles around this one. The older machine runs steadily at 2290. In response to the other posts, I removed the little pencil shaped strainer and saw that it was clear. I have replaced both lower and upper fuel filters. We put the engine code reader on the ECU and did not detect any error codes. I may try to blow air back through each of the lines and will look at the air cooler. That suggestion might be the answer. If you have over 2500 hrs or so, it may pay to have the injectors checked out. Sometimes the tips wear out or the body will crack, and it can be difficult to detect a slight miss.
