Combines John Deere 600 Series Heads

Greenblood, I don't understand how Deere can have a 4" cutting system on the new 600 head when the cutting bar driver, which by the way is a SCH system or a JD clone to it, is only a 31_2" stroke. Obiviously with these numbers the sickle can't register. Would someone explain this. TIA

Greenblood---They say "Variety is the Spice of life". I find it incredible what you folks are told and that you actually believe it as gospel. I really view this site as a "Green Fantasy land", kinda like on the lite side. There are times though when you do have good serious discussion. No, it was a 9750 with a 630F - it is a local farmer, not a custom guy. The header is very impressive.

Did the new flexhead have the new stone dam on itIJ I saw the 600 series head a couple of weeks ago with the stone dam, and I think you may lose some beans that don't make it over that edge

Forever Red, You are right with the 3.5inch stroke and 4 inch guards. The maths simply don't work - neither does the knife when you have some wear on the knife sections or the guards. I, and many other JD owners who run the JD draper can vouch for this. Even JD will quietly admit that there is a problem. Here is Aus. the only way to alleviate the problem is to fit Primary Sales double cut guards.

Thanks for the info. I know a custom guy that has a job based for a farmer at wendell and I wasn't sure how far away that guy had land. I just knew that there was likely going to be a 9860 and 35 foot head going there for beans and then they were going to bring up a 16 row 22 inch head for corn.
