yes it is a self-propelled harvester i do believe it's a 95' model 6810,if caseih made one we would still buy a claas.as soon as this one is fixed thats what were gonna get.

Too bad your dealer wants to be that way or that the product is doing what it is. Was it well-used before you got itIJ Sometimes things do stupid things (like my computer all the time). That's life. I certainly wouldn't give up on Deere just because of one bad experience. The company sells a heck of a lot of equipment, and I'd go out on a limb to say that at least most people have had one Deere machine that's given them fits (like the new MX Magnums are giving the guys in our neck of the woods),but still there are a lot of satisfied customers coming back. My 2 cents. Oh, and I don't know the first thing about forage harvesters!

hey i ran a 6810 last year for alittle bit w_ a 6row kemmper head and was in awe over the power this thing had. forage sourgum as tall as the cab and just as thick going 5 to 5.5 and filling a 45 ft end dump semi trailer in about 5 min. So you got some bugs in her( or 6inch long cock roaches as the case may be) STAND YOUR GROUND WITH YOUR DEAlER AND MAKE THEM FIX THE PROBlEM. and if they can't help you,call Taylor imp. in Hoxie,Ks. Those guys know silage cutters. good luck and don't give up on deere just yet. Really give those guys in Ks. a shout. They have a web page. Taylor Imp. com.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience with the chopper. I know the Deer Trail and Taylor dealerships in McPherson and Hoxie, respectively are more interested in forage harvesters than most. Still, your local dealer should back you, and if he can't, at least link you to a dealer who will get the job done. This reminds me of a similar ordeal some 16 years ago, where a farmer had bought a brand new 7720. It was just a total piece of you-know-what! His dealer actually tried to work with him, but the upper corporate levels did not co-operate. It took months before he was finally compensated for the combine, during which time I think the dealer provided an alternate. Talking about burning something, the Deere TM and all related staff should have personally visited that farmer and taken the deffective 7720 out to a safe spot in the middle of a plowed field and burned it to the ground without any further if's, and's or butt's. If that sounds too drastic or voilent, just read any good ag history book and the account of J.I. Case himself doing just that to one of his threshers sold as a defect to a customer. Without a question, the farmer got an immediate replacement. If Deere is so high and mighty in the combine business, why can't they REAllY back their products, rather than hide behind mounds of red tape, pointing a finger at each otherIJ

You have now............come to the crux of the matter.....No dealer can correct inherently bad designs, but it seems as if John Deere Dealers have "lost the way." All they seem to care about is selling and to heck with service .......

I would like to know more about this chopper, as it is my business. I have it narrowed down to a '95 6810. I do not know the serial number, where it was purchased, where it run, who is the servicing dealer, if the dealer has contacted the factory, the warranty history, maintenance history, service history, etc.... While most of these things are irrelevant to computer board problems, but I do not have a much go on. I am disappointed to see the product taking a bashing (rightly or wrongly) with no chance to help the situation.
