Johnson rock guard was $20_ft,may have raised this was a year or so ago.I've heard from several people the tubing does work, but use 3".They say they used large conduit clips to fasten it.
I had a 2" hose installed on my 25' 1020 for several years and it worked well in our normal short to average beans and kept several rocks out. However, we had tremendous beans last year and I had to remove it to get them to feed decent. Would the 3" work better in the taller beansIJ I feel kind of naked without the rock protection.
The guys on the Gleaner page have posted pictures and a discription of the hose on the Header Mod section in on the Hyper topic. Here is a link to the page.
IHman, what year is you 25' 1020IJ Didn't know if by "new" you meant new to you or brand new. Why I ask is we traded our '97 25' 1020 for a '02 30' and kept the Johnson Rock Guard that was on the 25' thinking we would buy extra pieces and extend it and put it on the 30'. Now we have been told that the newer 1020 used a "hi-rise" hold down while the older 1020 used a "low" holddown clipp and the rock guard off our old head won't fit the newer head. Has anybody else heard this or is the company giving us a line to get us to buy a new rock guardIJ If so we would be interested in selling it. located in WC-IN
The head is new too me it's a 97 or 98 not real sure. What would you want for your rockguardIJ cause I am definitly interested. I"m not too far from you NC. IN. about 8 miles east of Plymouth. thanx Brad
