I bought a 1460 a year ago, after running a M3 gleaner. My local IH dealer told me to look at the follwing things, and I've had to do to mine. 1. If the rear axle is set out wide it should have braces from it to the frame. 2.Check the rotor for balance by putting it in neutral and spinning it by hand. It should stop and not roll back, and shouldn't stop in the same place. If it shake the whole machine bad when it runs you should have rebalanced. 3.Check the cone and elephant ears for excessive wear and holes. 4. Where the hydo pump attaches to the machine there is a pulley. It shoudn't have much or any play on the shaft. It couples the hydro to the machine the splines wear and I guess if it cuts them clear off you stop. I'm sure there are other things, but a lot of it is wear stuff like any combine.
