Bill, as you can see, this combine is mounted around a tractor, saving the farmer from buying wheels, frame, engine, hydraulic, etc. and still having a self propelled combine. There are very view units of different brands around in Europe. I have only seen photos either. I don't think anybody makes them anymore. Just like the pulltype combine, it's a thing of the past.

looks like the tractor mounted concept vehicle they were kicking around. If you look closely you will see a 2000 series MF tractor running backwards in the middle of two side mounted machines. Can you imagine how often you would have to clean the air filtersIJ Fire hazardIJIJ GS

I went through some books of mine and found that picture. It says it was made in the early 1980s.It was designed by Massey in there Eschwege plant. It does not say if it was ever in production. The grain tank was in the back, almost looks like A grain cart hooked to the back.

That is exactly what I thought it was and when reading above and seeing it came out in the early 80's that was around the same time when Javco_new idea came out with thier uni machine and you could go from application to application.........which included a crop threshing combination. Makes you wonder if it was an answer for that competition.

Have seen a machine like this only smaller in size. Had a 8 foot front, it was at Headerworld in Corowa NSW Australia, a few years back. Was made by JF a company from Europe that makes hay gear. It required a 50 to 60hp tractor to run it. Was told that they were good in hilly ground as centre of gravity was very low.
