Combines k concave bar IJ

I believe you could get away with only 2 Channel bar concaves. 3 may well be too many. As Tbran would say though (If I might be brave enough to quote the Gleaner Genius.) Speed Cracks. So you may just need to slow it down a lot more. Maybe 387 RPM or so. That would be 0 on scale with the 20" Sheave. Could you give us all the settings so we could tell if any thing else is out of kilterIJIJ

Stone protection is nil without a bar on the door-vital here in western Pa. but maybe not where you are. We suggest 3 concaves for all but the worst conditions-then 4 rarely. Make sure the concaves are not worn. Check the cylinder rasp bars. The leading edge should not be blunted and there should be a crown down the center of each bar. If crown is ok but leading edge is blunt each bar may be reversed.

When I had my F2 I ran with the filler bars in the cylinder, cylinder speed around 500 rpm, cylinder clearence just a little less than the diameter of the cob and three channel concave bars. The filler bars will help to roll the grain off the cob. Make sure you keep your machine full (push it a little) so you are threshing grain with grain not metal threshing grain. Another thing that helped me is I put the largest gear available on the feeder beater behind the cylinder to speed it up to help pull the material away from the cylinder. Also run the first six rows of your chaffer with a separate control rod and open them 1_4-3_8 more than the middle, this gets the grain in the machine quicker and the cob and chaff are kept out with the blast of air coiming off the fan right there. Hope this helps.

try this. Three rows of concave rasps in position 1,3,5. (1 being the door) In soybeans and wheat just change the rasps to a channel in the pos. 1.(door) Rasps will take a little more power however. This will remove the necesity of lowering back door :)! As post below states you need lap filler bars in cyl to do the best job. There is a 66 tooth or even 84 tooth spkt avail to SlOW down the cyl. While on the subject there is a HIGH PROFIlE concave available for corn. This works well. It has a double high profile and sill allow corn to build up in front of channel resulting in corn on corn shelling. Beneficial in white corn and popcorn. One must remember to reset height gauges when using these as well as leveling the cyl in the process.
