Tbran, I started by placing a 2x4 on top of the beater to push the sheet metal upwards and it also held it in position. I then bolted in a pre-drilled angle iron piece about 35" in length. I ran it side to side and bolted to some pre-existing holes on the side frames with 3_8" bolts - immediately in front of the engine frame. I then drilled through the angle iron holes and into the sheet metal. I used 1_4" bolts to fasten the angle to the sheet metal. I still have about 3-4" in front of the angle iron that is not fastened, but it came right back up to original position. It is much better than before. I did not notice any frame members loose, but I will check that in the morning. I did have a eccentric arm come loose on one side of my shoe last year while harvesting. Maybe it shook it too muchIJ Thanks for the info.
