Combines Keeping mice out of R50 Cabs

We have used metal roof flashing, as tall as you can get under your axels (approx. 14"),and shaped in an oval on the ground around the tires and have not seen signs of a mouse ever since we started doing it! Just make sure the mice can't tunnel underneath and it should solve your problem! This creates a dam around the tires that they can't climb or jump over.

A thorough cleaning is probably most important as they get into combines searching for food. Then sprinkle mothballs in the consoles and on the floor mat. It is important to do this as soon as possible because mice are harder to get rid of once they take up residence. A few very healthy cats help too. Tom in MN

If you don't like moth balls, a bottle of peppermint oil in the cab is not bad either.(with the lid off)They don't like the strong smell.

For several years we have put fabric softener sheets like your wife would use in the dryer to keep mice out. Seems to work very well and smells much better than mothballs. I put a half a dozen or so scattered around the cab. Be sure to take the access panel off of the console and throw some in there as that is where they like to get in and can do the most damage.

Remove side panel from cab to seal up the hole or holes they are getting in. Maybe they have made a way by the brake pedals. Remove air cleaner and door during for storage. Flip down door to cab blower and leave open. Remove monitors and leave hang by wires for storage. Put one of those wind up traps in cab to catch the ones that may get in.
