You just cant leave it alone can you, what was the point of your childish ignorrent post what has no reason being here other then the fact that you are a very immature little meat head who just spent hours in front of the mirror popping zits on your face. Well lets start of with you being the expert what is the best diesel motor, please tell us. And when did cat ever make the statement that they were planning on and or were going to put deer out of businessIJ That is a very good strategic decision to set next to them at shows, they probably figure the self centered egotistical, ones who think one color is the best just might get a lil nervous when the combines in the next booth cost a bit more then the overated ones and figure ill keep up with the jones' and buy the cat it costs more,(but also is a better combine)!!!! And on your last question they have reasons for buying and selling they do what they think is the best for them and there future, they could care less what some lil kid like yourself who spends more time looking at the sears and robuck pantie section and blabbing on about pointless topics. Whenever you make a post why dont you put a lil time and effort in it.

Some of the Challenger tractors already use the Caterpillar (or Perkapillar) engines, and the larger horsepower tractors will use CAT engines as soon as AGCO retrofits those larger engines into thier massive cast-iron frames. You mentioned that you would "bet everything" on CAT never putting Deere out of the combine business. Perhaps you're right, but what does "Everything" entail; - it's always nice to know what the "stakes" are in such a bet, and I'm betting (judging by the "quality" of your posting) that "everything" ISN'T MUCH!!!

i guess i don't read enough about what cat says in the magazines ! but let me tell you this if you grew up on a 4020 and 4430 I bet you would think different ! they made DEERE what it is today and thats why DEERE is the best and always will be ! i bet my 4020 is worth more then any used cat out there! and it's over 37 years old but you wouldn't understand qaulity like that ! they might not make the best of everything but they make the best tractors and combines you can buy ! If not why does everybody compare to them IJ

Antiques are of high value to collectors. You realize that there are other models that are of high value too. I follow used machinery values and condition means everything. You will not get much for a 4020 that needs an overhaul - you will get alot of money for a good one. The two cylinder JD tractors made JD in my opinion - they were a good value for their time. Then the 3010 and 4010 were the transition tractors for deere and of good value. I for instance will pay top dollar for an older case tractor - at least I would until I run out of money. Get me a cherry 350 case with W_F - 3pt hitch. So far other people think they are worth more than me. (hate to pay twice what they sold for new) best, bill koob

I wouldn't understand quality like thatIJIJIJ I've owned two 3020's, a 4430, a 4630, 4640, 4650 and still a 4955; - I couldn't agree with you more about Deere quality. I do think, however, that Deere is starting to "slip" with thier combines a little. I believe the other makes compare themselves to Deere because Deere is (deservingly) the market leader.
