I've converted 2-lM corn heads for my R52. make sure you are using the slow speed sprockets from combine to head, so when you speed up head the feeder will speed up too. Adjust the mounting plate so the head will be as low as possible in the rear. In clean snapping corn varieties it worked great, in dirty varieties, I mostly had to slow down and tighten the slipclutch on the head's auger drive. I fooled around adding tines and welding flighting on the head's auger but it didn't speed up the delivery in trashy corn. The best way to deal with trashy corn is invest in a hugger. My R52 handles an 8 row just fine.
