Every 3 passes with a 20' you almost gain a extra 15',compared to a 15' head,so you spend less time turning, but if you have narrow roads you have to cart the head, creating extra cost and loss of time. The combine will handle 20' allright.A 62 with a 20' head would handle beans at 6-7 mph,if the head would cut clean.

I have 2 M2 Gleaners equally equiped and were running a 15' and 20' side by side in 45 bushel beans. The combine's speed seem to be limited by the capacity of the sickle and were running nearly the same ground speed. The 20 foot machine was dumping three hoppers to the 15 footer's two. We were combing 17inch rows and running at a 30 degree angle or so. The difference is turning time and effective cut. The 15 footer probably was actually cutting 14 feet while the 20 footer was cutting 19 feet. I was surprised in the difference it made. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Steve
