Don't be. I have no-til 'd for 30 years. l's and R50 now for ten. If your machine is set right you will have virtually nothing coming over the shoe except light fine stuff. 90% of all the cobs came over walkers whole as well as shucks and few stalks and the chopper WITH CORN KIT took care of them. The only concern are the 20' + wide headers and 10 - 12 row corn heads and just here in certain areas.( I said we are all no til however we do lightly disc corn ground for soft red winter wheat. Still no residue problems) Make sure you need the shaft spreader before investing the big bucks here.
