Are you referring to the right hand side of the machine between the clean grain elevator and grain tankIJ

Tom: Yes, right where the clean grain auger goes up through the grain hopper. I have a hard time figuring out what could be worn enough to leak there. Thanks, ND l2

It has been too long since I looked into an l2 grain tank so this may not apply, but I wonder if your clean grain elevator chain is jumping a tooth causing the entire elevator housing to jump back and forth or side to side. I remember having to move an elevator housing back into position because of a bad chain or bent shaft, but that was so many years ago I can't remember which combine I worked on and exactly what the problem was. Hopefully someone else can be more help. Tom in MN

We have an 83 M3 and had the same problem. If you get up in the tank and look down through where the cleen grain elevator goes through the sheet metal, there is a pocket that catches grain when the tank runs over. Ours had a lot of rotten corn right next to the elevator that had rusted a hole in it. After fixing the hole, we put a piece of sheet metal over the hole and the inspection cover so that any spilled grain would slide off to the ground.
