If the concave is rounded much I would replace it.It's not hard to replace,lower the front raddle and concave,remove top cover from throat,raise the throatput achain down through the cylinder and hook to the concave,small hoist hooked to the chain makes the job easy.Take out the bolts and get the concave free.Then reverse to go back in .I've changed concave alone in an M-2 in 2 hrs,is easier with 2 people.Don't know about concaves for specialty crops.You should be able to lower the cylinder to hit the concave,if not the bars or concave is worn or the concave frame could be broken.

There is a reason the concave will not bottom out. look close at the place where the back door (concave) is bolted. IF ever ran loose the frame will bend and possibley split. You have to fix this problem to avoid serious consequences later. The cylinder should lower easily to '0'.

gordo,I donot mean to be a smart guy but the voice of experiance did you loosen the cylinder drive chain before trying to lower_bottom out the cylider,just a thought, Dan
