20 years ago I worked with an engineer from a company that made reversers and we concluded there was no good place to mount a feed reverser. The physical location is not the problem; finding a suitable drive where it is practical to mount another belt or chain is. After watching me unplug wet beans from an l2, my wife and son bought an R60 with a feed reverser. I guess they figured that was cheaper than hospital bills for a heart attack or something. Since getting the R60, I have learned of several mods that will improve head feeding and greatly reduce plugging. Most of the guys here like the Johnson bar or pipe deal that goes behind the sickle. An earlier discussion covers this one adequately. I have had impressive results with reel sweeps from AGCO parts. They sweep slugs off the sickle and provide an even feed to your feeder house. An air reel gets good marks if you are willing to spend more money. That has also been discussed recently. look into one of the easy fixes before giving up on a good l series. Tom in MN
