Combines l3 to C62

Huge difference in capacity between a C62 and l3. We have 2 '81 l2's which are almost the same as an l3 and we also have a C62. The C62 cylinder is 60" wide compared to the l3's which is 48". Although it has strawwalkers the C62 is a lot more like a R62 than an l3. The cylinder is way up under the back of the grain bin, then behind the cylinder there are 2 more beaters which act like cylinders as well to throw the material up on the strawwalkers. The C62 also uses an accelerator roll to propel the grain through the blast of air coming from the fan. let me know if there is anything else you would like to know about it. I'm just finishing my 3rd season with one and would be glad to share any info that may be of use to you.

Thanks strawwalker for your reply. How easy is it to unplug the cylinder if that should happen, and what kind of stone protection does it haveIJ lynn

I don't have the C62, but my R62 is eaual to two l2,l3 s. I cut wheat and small grains only. I don't know about the beans and corn capacities.

lynn, In the 3 years I've had the C62 I've never even come close to plugging the cylinder. The machine is a beast, it has incredible capacity. Even in very tall 80 bu. wheat cutting it very low with a 20' head I've never even had the cylinder slow down. You will block the feeder house long before you ever plug the cylinder. For stone protection it has a stone trap in front of the cylinder. It works well but should be emptied daily. It works good for small rocks..and normally a large one will jam in the feederhouse and open the slip clutch.

Thankyou strawwalker and doc m for your replies. Sounds like the C62 is a bigger machine than we could use. Going from a F2 to a l3 was a big step for us in capacity and enjoy running the machine. This year we ran out of crop before we ran out of fun. lynn
